Richard Music Guyana

Richard Singh is a Guyanese singer and entertainer whose meteoric rise from quarantine boredom to international stages is as inspiring as it is entertaining. At 37 years old, Richard embodies raw authenticity, comedic flair, and musical versatility, blending genres like Chutney, Dancehall, and Rap with a signature touch of humor and cultural wit. Born on James Street in Albouystown, Richard’s childhood was anything but stationary. From the communities of Princes Street, Lodge, Hague, and Kitty to his long-term roots in Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, he has carried the stories, sounds, and spirit of Guyana wherever he goes. Though his professional entertainment career only officially began just over three years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic, his creative soul has been in training since childhood. Like many hidden talents, Richard was once just a “glorified bathroom and karaoke singer.” But in 2021, with boredom at its peak and opportunity knocking, he recorded his first two songs — “Confessing” and “Last Night”. The response was unexpectedly strong, launching what has now become a full-fledged career in entertainment. Today, Richard is best known for his breakout hit “Berbice Gyal” (ironically, he’s not from Berbice), and for captivating fans through both his musical releases and his comedic skits online. He brings a unique mix of unfiltered personality, Guyanese dialect, and realness, never hiding behind a public persona. “Me on record and me in person are the same people,” he proudly states. In just under three years, Richard has already: Performed on major stages in NYC, Canada, and across Guyana Appeared on numerous TV and radio programs Built a dedicated fan base who regularly shout, “I’m your #1 fan!” Been booked for shows like Clash of the Titans, the biggest Chutney showcase in the world But despite the quick rise, Richard is candid about the challenges of being an artist in Guyana. “It’s a 'who knows who' business,” he says. “We need more radio time, more rotation for different artistes, and more value placed on local talent.” His determination, honesty, and connection with the people have made him one of the most genuine voices in Guyanese entertainment today. Whether he’s performing on a big stage or cracking jokes online, Richard Singh represents a new era of multi-dimensional Caribbean entertainers: grounded, gifted, and unapologetically real.
